On Thursday, 22nd of October, 2009, AET Group Inc.’s President and CEO, Scott Freiburger and Chief Operating Officer, Larry Freiburger were honoured to accept the Gold Sustainable Service award on behalf of the company’s achievements and dedication to environmental sustainability in front of more than 300 attendees at the Recycling Council of Ontario’s 2009 Ontario Waste Minimization Awards Gala. This award evaluates products or services that improve the management of resources and/or minimize negative environmental impacts during their own life cycle or the life cycle of other goods and services as they are manufactured/produced, consumed or at the end of useful life (e.g., products containing recycled content, reusable packaging systems, treatment technologies, etc.). AET was judged in 6 primary categories: reducing non-renewable resources; reducing energy and water consumption; reducing pollutants; recyclability; environmental design; and, environmental leadership.

In addition to receiving this award, AET was delighted to see ten of their recent clients take home various awards that evening including ARAMARK Healthcare, CompX, County of Simcoe, Durham Region, Halton Region, Homewood Health Centre, PWGS Canada, SNC Lavalin ProFac, Town of Markham and York Region. On April 4, 1998, AET Consultants founder Scott Freiburger started Associated Environmental Technologies in the Region of Waterloo as an environmental consulting company specializing in solid waste management. Associated Environmental Technologies pioneered the development, implementation and monitoring of construction solid waste management programs. Mr. Freiburger started with 2 people and 1 truck. Initially, Associated Environmental Technologies catered to the construction industry, interested in managing construction on-site waste. In 2001, Associated Environmental Technologies was renamed to AET Consultants Inc.

Since 1998, AET Consultants has grown from a solid waste management company to a sought after multi-disciplinary environmental consulting firm with a staff of 10, 5 trucks, mobile units/trailers and equipment servicing the private industry, government at all levels and other professional organizations across Canada. Today our clients benefit from our continued growth and expansion of services in a number of technical areas including: solid and hazardous waste management, regulatory compliance, environmental management, energy management, LEED design and consultation, green building and project management.
